The Iowa Economic Development Authority board approved a $1.5 million Strategic Infrastructure Program grant to UNI’s Metal Casting Center. Over the past four years, the Additive Manufacturing Center facility, located at TechWorks Campus in Waterloo, has expanded its large-format sand printing services to include a student engineering center, polymer printing lab and a robotic mold machining center. The SIP grant will continue this expansion into investment castings.

UNI Job & Internship Fair
The UNI Job & Internship Fair is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday, Sept. 17, at the McLeod Center. This event will feature more than 185 employers, and an average of 1,750 students will attend.
UNI Athletics initiative, Elevating Educators, to honor and elevate professional educators
UNI Athletics is partnering with campus on Elevating Educators, a new initiative that seeks to recognize and elevate professional educators in Iowa, nationwide and throughout the world. To kick off the Elevating Educators initiative, UNI is offering all educators who work in a pre-K through 12 school district two free tickets to the UNI vs. Missouri State football game and tailgate set for 4 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 17, at the UNI-Dome.
