About

Welcome to Cumberland County College.

Recognized recently as one of the nation’s top 50 community colleges (ranked 29th in the U.S. and first in New Jersey), Cumberland has been a vital part of the South Jersey region since it was founded in 1966 as the first community college in NJ to open its own campus.

Set on 100 impressively landscaped acres, Cumberland’s campus is one of the most outstanding in the Delaware Valley.

The College enrolls nearly 4,000 students and offers 125 career and associate degree programs. Fully accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, the College is guided by a five-year strategic plan focused on student success, leadership and service-learning, and economic and workforce development.

The College is a valued resource for the Cumberland County region, providing students and community residents an outstanding learning environment.

Following graduation, students can continue their education through the Shirlee and Bernard Brown University Center, which offers Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees through partnerships with prominent universities.

Cumberland is a catalyst for collaborative relationships across the county as evidenced by the facilities and programming of the George P. Luciano Family Center for Public Service and Leadership, the Frank A. Guaracini, Jr. Fine and Performing Arts Center, and the Office of Workforce and Community Education. A commitment to innovation can be seen in our participation in Achieving the Dream, the League for Innovation in Community Colleges, and the NJ Campus Compact.

And, after fifty years as a key economic driver in the region, the college has now become a magnet for two new important facilities on our campus – the Center for Workforce and Economic Development (CWED) and Cumberland County Technical Education Center (CCTEC).
