Built on a strong foundation in the liberal arts, Concordia College challenges students to think critically, discover their passions and engage responsibly in the world.

Liberal Arts Advantages

Academics at Concordia are rooted in a global liberal arts curriculum that fosters creative thinking and developing a broad perspective. Classes are small — giving students the opportunity to work closely with highly accomplished faculty scholars dedicated to teaching and mentoring.

Students at Concordia choose from more than 50 majors and 12 preprofessional programs featuring a strong emphasis on experiential learning that includes internships, research and global experiences.

Engaging the World

Concordia is a nationally recognized leader among undergraduate institutions for the number of students who study abroad. On campus, we offer six languages, two world-focused majors, and plentiful opportunities to make a global difference through volunteer work. Our students come from 31 countries and speak dozens of languages.

In the classroom and beyond, Concordia encourages students to examine ethics and values as they prepare to become responsibly engaged in the world.

Mission to Serve

Concordia’s mission statement calls for the college to “influence the affairs of the world by sending into society thoughtful and informed men and women dedicated to the Christian life.”

That statement is deeply rooted in Concordia’s faith tradition. A college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Concordia invites students from a variety of faith and nonfaith backgrounds to tackle big questions and engage deeply in discussions about faith, meaning and our place in the world.

Campus and Community Connections

Concordia’s 2,000+ students engage actively in life beyond the classroom. Our 19 world-class music ensembles regularly tour the nation and the world. Our 22 NCAA Division III teams perennially challenge for conference titles and postseason competition. We also offer a robust theatre program, student government and more than 100 student organizations.

Our green, park-like campus is located in the heart of the Fargo-Moorhead area, a community on the move with nearly 30,000 college students, great restaurants, and a thriving arts and entertainment scene. Cited as one of the best places in the country to do business or advance a career by Money magazine, Fargo-Moorhead offers unlimited opportunities for internships and career advancement.

Going Farther, Faster

Our students benefit from a wealth of hands-on, applied learning experiences that give them decided advantages after leaving Concordia. And they graduate in four years or less — guaranteed.

We’re proud of the fact that 93 percent of Concordia graduates are employed or in graduate school within nine months of graduation. Our exceptional track record for placing students into prestigious graduate programs includes an 88 percent acceptance rate into medical school.
